All members of the Castlegar community are invited to join COINS in marking Orange Shirt Day. Wear an Orange Shirt, don't forget your mask, and mark this day in the community.
As a part of our parish's commitment to learning, unlearning, and re-learning with regards to our church's role in colonization, the history and legacy of residential schools, and why apologies to former residential school students, their families, and communities were necessary, members of Valhalla Parish are encouraged to attend in a posture of listening, learning, and openness.
Prayers will be offered to a sacred fire held in the Tipi: prayers for the children of the residential schools. The children that survived, the children that are healing, and the children that didin't come home.
There will also be a Barbecue with Hotdogs. COVID-19 Protocols are in place. For more information you can contact Jessica MacLeod at COINS.
